Answers you can count on.

On average, Australia disposes approximately 350 million single-use batteries every year, contributing significantly to environmental pollution. Rechargeable batteries – particularly lithium-ion variants – contribute fewer emissions during production, transport as well as disposal. Rechargeable batteries are also more energy efficient and have a much longer lifespan than single-use batteries.

By switching to USYNC rechargeable lithium-ion batteries, you can reuse batteries up to 1,200 times. A great investment for both you and our sustainable future.

Our rechargeable battery design at USYNC features a USB-C port, removing the need for bulky chargers. We are the only supplier with a USB-C port in Australia with a mission to make recharging devices more accessible and available.

The idea for our battery design was initiated by our founders, Molly, aged 15 and Will, aged 17. Realising the extent of battery waste filling up in landfill, Molly and Will were driven to design a solution that combined environmental responsibility with everyday convenience, without compromising performance.

We are a family-owned Australian company. All our rechargeable batteries are designed in Australia and manufactured in the US. Our processes are focussed on reducing emissions and promoting sustainable solutions, from design to supply.

USYNC rechargeable batteries are made with lithium-ion technology Lithium-ion batteries retain approximately 80% of their energy after 12 months of use. This slow discharge means they are ideal for long-term use.

On the other hand, single-use batteries may only retain 30% of their original energy after 12 months, if that. For this reason, our rechargeable batteries have a lifespan of up to 10 years, double the lifespan of single-use batteries.

For a typical Australian household, single-use battery spend for a year is about $100.

If the same household was to use rechargeable batteries instead, a set of USYNC batteries cost about $50 and can be reused up to 1,200 times. When we amortise this cost over the lifespan of the battery, the cost of a single rechargeable battery comes to $1.

Let’s take this a step further: if your household switched entirely to rechargeable batteries, you could save up to $1,197 per battery over time. Imagine the number of single-use batteries you go through and the savings that could result by making the switch! Want to learn more? Drop us a message.

Our vision at USYNC is to create a more sustainable future so all our rechargeable batteries are also recyclable. Each USYNC rechargeable battery can be reused 1,200 times, giving it a lifespan of up to 10 years.

If you start to notice the rechargeable battery doesn’t last as long or is taking longer to recharge, it may be time to recycle the battery. Once this starts to happen, you can take the battery to a recycling station near you.
